Neel Skelton - Assistant Director of Youth Ministry
Neel Skelton, Assistant Youth Director at Mitchell Road, is a native of Greenville with a passion for seeing students meet and walk with Jesus. Neel began working for Mitchell Road as an Intern during the summers of 2010 and 2011, and became a full time staff member in August 2011.
Once an avid swimmer – he was a five time state time champion swimmer in high school- Neel infuses fun
and games into group activities with the ultimate goal of seeing students become believers and help them as they grow in their faith in a way that God is glorified and lives are changed. His favorite part of the job is working with
the youth and finds their joy refreshing and encouraging. Middle school youth regularly meet on Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings, and also for prayer meetings on Tuesday mornings.
Some of Neel’s hobbies include sports, reading, and visiting the lake and mountains, and he is not shy about his passion for Clemson athletics. When asked what makes the youth ministry unique at Mitchell Road, he answers confidently - they have the most fun!

Favorite quote:
“Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards
promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is
meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” – CS Lewis
