Debbe Mays - Counselor to Women and Families

Debbie

Debbe Mays, Counselor to Women and Families, began working with Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church in September 2008.  Debbe holds a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling, with an emphasis in Conflict Resolution /Management, from Trinity Theological Seminary and has earned a certificate in Biblical Counseling from The Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. She completed the certification training for mediation and arbitration from Peacemaker Ministries. Debbe serves as a volunteer mediator with The Upstate Mediation Center and completed certification training from the South Carolina Bar Association in Family Court Mediation.  Debbe is able to apply her education and her passion for Jesus as she walks with others through their life struggles.

Debbe is such a joy to be around, and we are thrilled to have her as a part of the staff at MRPC.  She seeks to be gentle and open as she and counselees look at how the scriptures speak to individual circumstances.  Conversations with Debbe feel like time spent with a dear friend.

Debbe has been happily married to Rod for 36 years and has a grown daughter who also lives in Greenville.  Surprisingly, Debbe describes herself as an introvert.  She began her undergraduate studies in music education, then worked in the accounting and legal fields for over 20 years before beginning her seminary studies.
