Philosophy of Ministry
At Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church we believe that our Philosophy of Ministry should be based on Christ’s Incarnation, that is to say that Christ came in the carnal body (in the flesh) to us. God, in and of himself, is a relationship and highly values relationships. Therefore, we seek to be incarnational with our neighbors, friends, and with the family of faith at Mitchell Road. As we are incarnational (being life on life with people around us) we are learning to initiate with people, identify with them, and invade each other’s hearts with the gospel so that we might finally live in an honest, broken and authentic community where Christ with his grace reigns as king. This Philosophy of Ministry is pushed out into individualized ministries and is the key to all that we do. Although we have many programs and many things to be involved with, it is not intended to be a church that is built on programmatic ministries (just coming to things for the sake of attending) but rather each program is designed to fit into and serve the philosophy of being an incarnational church.
